Would recommend this hotel. One of the dining options, Eastern Pavilion, was 10 mins walk away...

Perfect for my overnight stay adn I will return

The hotel is very convenient for travelling into the city by a selection of buses, only being minutes away from Princess Street. There is ample free parking at the hotel. The price we were offered was a fair price.
The hotel was clean but the decoration and furniture are ready for renewal.

Clean rooms with very friendly & helpfull staff

We needed a place for the night before a very early morning airport departure. The airport hotels are way too expensive. The Agenda Hotel is only 3-4 miles from airport, was reasonably priced, very clean and large room, good amenities, helpful staff, packed breakfast and fresh coffee were ready for our departure. We had stayed earlier in town at a more expensive hotel that was not very satisfactory. Next time we visit Edinburgh we'll stay at the Agenda, and take the bus (right out the front door) to downtown.

the location was perfect for sightseeing, easy to hop on and off the local buses for £3.00 a day ticket brilliant and the bus stops outside the hotel, the room was adequate for what we were needing, plenty of local pubs and restaurants to eat in and the hotel was not to bad priced for their meals, the breakfast was lovely great choice from the menu, staff were eager to help you.
the constant traffic noise was unreal from 6am to 11pm, the vending machine had out of date items in it by 3 months, the room would have benefited from a small fridge, and shower although very hot was hard to control as it was a mixer tap, having to put the kettle on the floor so you could use it.

The food at the restaurant is excellent.
To many stairs and no elevator.

location was excellent and girl covering reception when we arrived was very friendly. breakfast was nice too.
unfortunately all staff were not as nice as the receptionist was when we arrived. waitress serving breakfast made us feel like a complete inconvenience to her. i dont think this hotel is worth the money. poor and run down condition. when we arrived the room looked fairly clean, however the carpet was absolutely disgusting as were the cups. DVD player did not work, had to boil the kettle on the floor as there was nowhere else which was quite dangerous. Our experience at this hotel put a dampener on our trip to Edinburgh.
-
Price, taste of breakfast (not presentation or restaurant), helpfulness of staff
Lacked cleanliness, plastic flowers everywhere, dirty cup and teaspoon in room, lipstick on water glass, bar closed at 11pm, stains on furniture
-
The room upgrade - I mention on the booking form that it was our 1st wedding anniversary and we received a four poster bed room
We noticed that although the decor was nicely done, it was looking a bit tired, peeling wallpaper, stains / burns on carpets, marks on walls (esp in bathroom)
-
value for money
very, very busy road in front of the hotel

The moment I saw the reception area (which had a glass door you could hardly see through and the carpets and walls were dirty) I didnt feel comfortable. It reflected the rooms - dirty, shabby and in need of a good cleaning. We paid for our room prior to seeing it. Mistake. I wished I had booked travelodge up the road - cheaper but always clean and you know what your are getting. We could not eat the breakfast. I went to see what it was, the cups were dirty, cornflakes in plastic container (wouldnt trust that). Ordered 2 boiled eggs each and both were so undercooked just ran out of shell. horrible place. the radiator didnt work either.
I complained to the lady at reception when we left. She said she had never had complaints before (I dont believe that). She wasnt bothered. We couldn't changed hotels because we had booked dinner and theatre in the city. I felt uneasy about complaining the night before as a guy came in drunk and obviously worked/lived there.
